The majestic forests of Ukkohalla call to adventure. Let your feet and thoughts take you where they will. Who knows, you might even hear the chirping of Kainuu’s regional bird, the Siberian jay, also known as the woodsman’s friend. If you’re looking for a shorter trip, you can head to the Vorlokki wilderness hut, for example, where you can take a refreshing swim before heading back. For those looking for a longer hike, the legendary UKK trail is a good choice. There are plenty of sights to see around Ukkohalla: the natural waterfall of Komulanköngäs, the wilderness huts of Pyssylampi, and Pirunkirkko with its river canyons, just to name a few.
